...and I think I wear it well.
To put your patches on your sweater (or top of choice) put on your sweater and straighten your sleeves, then fold your arm so you can see your elbow and mark the center with a pin or pen.
great illustration:
I secured my patches with a blanket stitch along the edges. the felt won't fray, but you should be cautious when washing because the felt will get weird in the dryer. I would wash on delicate and then line dry. you could also make these patches and then secure them to your shirt with safety pins, but it won't be as smooth a finish.

How absolutely adorable. That kid is pretty cute too.
ReplyDeletethanks! I like him.
DeleteAack, so awesome!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I would say, as learned from personal experience, some felts bleed inthe wash (even good quality ones), so use cold water and maybe a color catcher. I think I might do knee patches for the boys!
ReplyDeletethanks courtney! love the knee patch idea!
DeleteBwahaha, love it
ReplyDeleteKelley! I love these:) Now I just have to figure out how many I can make for my wardrobe without seeming too raccoon crazy... they are the new black though;). --Erin
ReplyDeleteHoly cuteness! I wonder if my daughter has any sweaters I can do this to. And when I say "my daughter" I really mean me ;-)
ReplyDeleteRidiculously cute!!
ReplyDeleteDo you think I'd be able to get the same effect if I made rabbits instead of raccoons?? :)
ReplyDeleteKelley, these are fantastic!! Love them!! Raccoon patches might be everywhere in my house soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute idea! Now I want to go put raccoons on everything. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing this template and tutorial. I sewed them on a sweater for my son.
