first sunki done!

do you remember back when my sunki love began? over a month later, i have actually completed one! with a second cut out even (hey, when you have two girlies it's pretty much required that you make two of all things awesome).

since that time, i've been chatting with the lovely Shelly of Figgy's Patterns as we worked on scheduling a trunk show (oh, and i went on and on about how much i love this pattern). so... if you're in the cincinnati area, stop by Sewn Studio next week to see the Figgy's trunk show, pick up your own pattern, and *bonus* my very own sunki will be on display as well! though, sadly, not on this hysterical little supermodel ;)

K's echino sunki

as you may be noticing, it's a tad bit short. i would do well to remember my daughter's very long legs in the future and check the length of things before sewing. the rest of the fit is perfection, though.

the sleeve and neck details are lovely, and i'm still wowed by the pocket construction of this dress.

i even managed to work out a blue hummingbird perfectly centered on the right sleeve. love!

here's the back and zipper detail:

and then just a few more pics of K being silly. you know, because why not?

next on the agenda is B's sunki... she's requested fabrics from the oliver + s cape ann collection.

  1. How about sticking a pleated or gathered band on the bottom to make it a bit longer? Sorted :o)

  4. Really great! And such a 60s feel with those tights! Gosh I love Echino fabric, but I don't buy it much because it is $30 per metre here in Australia :( I need to move to the US!
