we need new stockings

of course, i do not need a new project. in my head i keep saying, "i'll make some after the holidays. you know, for next year." and after the kids are in bed, i find myself going through fabric, getting out the scissors, and then putting it all away so that i can do something i'm supposed to be doing. i'm not sure how much longer i can resist the temptation. we may or may not have new stockings this christmas morning, but here are some lovely examples and inspirations from my fellow crafters that i've been drooling over.

(you can click on the names to check out the blogs of these talented crafty folks and/or click on the pictures to see more info about these particular projects)

it's so hard to choose what to make! and that's even before we start talking fabric. though at the top of that list (for now) i have meet the gang, the woodlands, echo, and possibly critter community... this is likely to change multiple times.

and in the exciting news department... i'm VERY honored to have been featured (again!) on Sew, Mama, Sew! this month, Melanie of A Sewing Journal looks at the colors that handmade crafters are embracing this christmas season in her column, Sewing Trends ~ Holiday Color. there are lots of great projects and inspiration, so make sure that you check it out.

five more days to go... hang in there :)

  1. Congratulations on the feature! Those little stockings are fun! I keep going back and forth on making stockings, too. I really want to, but also really don't. Then as I was scrounging through the box of decorations I found some truly heinous fleece ones that I made a few years ago. I wanted to pitch them, but Wyatt saw them and declared them beautiful, so looks like I may wait until next year...though I do have a few days...
