productive weekend so far... last night, i finished up two custom bags ordered by a friend that need to be shipped out monday. and, hey, i'm done two days ahead of time, so that's not bad at all!
one was a custom nora bag with a solid blue exterior and polka dotted lining (new pictures added to the nora bags in progress album to the right).
the other was a new bag, edie, designed to be used as an airplane carry-on and the subject of two earlier posts,
edie's insides and
edie's bag. this was the first time i attempted an adjustable strap and i found a FANTASTIC tutorial from nikki at
you SEW, girl. big thanks to her for that! this bag was a tough one - quilting, tons of pockets, velcro closures, three zippers all together and of course the adjustable strap. it was one heck of a learning experience and will hopefully be as functional as it is fun. here's a few pics:

i had a great time last night putting together my first "lorelei" mergirl. a few small edits to make, but i'm really quite happy with the result, especially for a prototype. she'll be a gift tomorrow for a three-year-old's birthday and i hope she just loves her. i have it on good authority that purple is the little one's favorite color, so how could she not, right? here's some pics of the first lorelei:

what else is in the news? looks like there are going to be a TON of great vendors at the upcoming Second Sunday in OTR (may 9). you can
fan them on facebook to get updates. so, tons to do to get ready of course. eight days and counting...
